Lani and Michael’s Engagement Shoot

This was a whirlwind of a weekend filled with engagement party fun and photos for Lani and Michael. It was a really great time, and I am honored to have the chance to take portraits of my friends. It is a challenging task, but it was very casual with all the family involved.  To get things started, we left early Sunday morning to get that good morning light.  We figured we would just find a good location and start shooting away.  The first photo you see is from a small park off of Swiss Avenue. What a great little secret! I though this would be a good way to kick of engagement photos, as you can see, Michael is a gentleman down on one knee.  Michael and Lani were very fun to work with.  And they had a lot of fun too while shooting.  They said they felt like movie stars…well, this is their time, they are getting married!

Earlier in the morning, we shot photos in the Arts District of downtown Dallas. There were many photo opportunities outside the Performing Arts Center, and even a big event with a marathon going on. We kept our distance from the race, but it was a nice energy to have music playing in the background.

Thanks again to Michael and Lani for this great opportunity. I hope you enjoy all the pics!! The shots below are more from the engagement shoot. And don’t forget, there will be more daily updates on my flickr photostream jayaxe04. Enjoy!!

We had such a great time, and I was happy to get a good shot of Michael and Lani dancing in the park.

When we were walking back to the car, Lani helped by carrying the diffuse umbrella, that provided to be an great photo extra!!

Thanks for reading, and come swing by my flickr photostream jayaxe04.
