Champi’s First Day!

After our long, long wait, Champi finally comes home!  Yes, that’s right. Dorothee and I are proud to introduce a pet Japanese Akita to our family.  And she is a handful!!  Luckily, I was able to sneak a way for a few moments to get these photos uploaded.  But other than this, she has been hands on just about 24/7. That’s puppies for ya.

Dorothee and I have researched, read books, watched the dog TV shows. All that work has come down to the Japanese Akita breed that we fell in love with.  We found our breeders not far from here in Corsicana, TX who has generously allowed us to visit Champi every few weeks before we brought her home yesterday.  Champi is now about 9 and a half weeks old, and getting close to 15 pounds.  She should grow to be about 60-70 pounds.

Here are some shots from yesterday when we first brought here home.  And as you can see she has already made herself at home.  I hope you enjoy the photos and check out more on my flicker photostream jayaxe04

Champi is at home in the grass...

Foxy is one of her favorites.

    • What did we get ourselves into…! 🙂 Champi did very well the second night. She actually let us get about 7 hours sleep… with only 2 break. Much better than the first night.
      Talk to you soon,

That is so awesome, she is sooo cute, and very well behaved dog (at least she was very behaved today, anyway). I am so happy for you and Dorothee, you guys finally got your puppy! 🙂 I need to bring Happy around more often, so Happy can make new friend. 😉

    • Yes, Happy needs to be comfortable before Champi gets much bigger. And I am sure we will have our hands full training her. She is a little ball of energy, as puppies are…

    • Thanks Adam (and Milo) …she is slowly adjusting to the “lizard” house. But I think she prefers it outside. 🙂
